Arabic Music Initiative


Launched on January 1st, 2008, the Arabic Music Initiative is an organization that is in the process of becoming a non-profit organization.


The goal behind establishing it is to be able to take on large Arabic Music related projects. The first projects covered by it are:


  • Publishing a series of Arabic music theory text books, in English.
  • A record label producing modern Arabic art music albums.
  • Workshops and other outreach and preservation activities.
  • Collaboration with other institutions


    • The workshops are already being offered and are received with great enthusiasm. The first CD is due mid-March 2008. The first text book is being written and due to be published in July. Several collaboration projects took place in 2007. More planned 2008. Visit the News page frequently for details.
